PROCUREMENT NOTICE: CLIMATE FINANCE SENIOR EXPERT

The ECOWAS Regional Climate Strategy (ERCS), unveiled at COP27 in Egypt, emphasizes the need for heightened attention to climate change adaptation across West Africa, particularly within the energy sector. To date, climate finance and energy sector projects have predominantly focused on mitigation, with renewable energy initiatives leading global investments in climate finance.

For the ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE) to achieve ERCS’ ambitious objectives in the energy sector, there is a critical need to prioritize adaptation efforts. This involves developing a robust pipeline of projects and securing the necessary financing to support these initiatives.

In view of the above, ECREEE is seeking to engage a short-term consultant to design a comprehensive programmatic framework to guide this initiative in line with the terms of reference provided.
