Abomey-Calavi, June 2, 2025 – The third certification exam for skills in installing off-grid solar photovoltaic systems (ECSES Certification) was officially launched on Monday, June 2, 2025, in Abomey-Calavi, Benin.
The exam brings together more than 50 candidates from Benin who will be assessed on the following key modules: installation safety; solar energy basics, design and sizing, component installation; wiring and commissioning; maintenance and troubleshooting.
This session is organized by the ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE) as part of the Fund for Regional Stabilisation and Development (FRSD) in ECOWAS Member States project, financed by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
This certification exam is supervised by Benin’s National ECSES Certification Committee in partnership with the Higher School of Renewable Energy Professions (ESMER) as the examination center.
