National Focal Institutions (NFIs)
An integral in providing essential data and information on the national RE & EE
ECREEE has established National Focal Institutions (NFIs) in each of the ECOWAS Member States as part of its commitment to fostering better coordination and communication with both regional and national stakeholders. This initiative is designed to enhance the impact and effectiveness of ECREEE’s programs and projects. The NFIs actively participate in the identification, appraisal, implementation, and monitoring of projects and activities conducted by the Centre. They are integral in providing essential data and information on the national Renewable Energy (RE) and Energy Efficiency (EE).
Recognizing the pivotal role of National Focal Institutions (NFIs) in achieving successful regional program implementation and serving as crucial intermediaries between ECREEE and their respective governments, ECREEE organizes annual meetings with the NFIs to discuss project proposals, financing, and provide recommendations for the next steps. Additionally, ECREEE provides technical support and builds capacity to further empower the NFIs.
