Since its establishment, ECREEE has not only spearheaded regional initiatives on renewable energy (RE) and energy efficiency (EE) policies but has also supported ECOWAS Member States in developing and implementing national action plans and projects aligned with regional RE and EE goals. As the regional hub for RE and EE, ECREEE coordinates stakeholders, builds capacity, and assists governments in operationalizing policies.
In the area of sustainable mobility, ECREEE—through the support of GIZ—has launched programs to advance electric mobility in Cabo Verde. This initiative has evolved into a success story, with valuable lessons that can be replicated across other ECOWAS Member States through regional policies and action plans.
As recommended by the ECOWAS Donors Consultative Committees, reflected in the ECREEE Strategic Plan 2023–2027, and in line with its mandate, ECREEE now seeks to initiate the development of activities that will lead to the adoption of Regional E-mobility Policy, Strategy, and Action Plans to accelerate the transition to electric mobility across the ECOWAS region. This individual consultant recruitment is supported by UNIDO. The activities to be carried out on fund availability basis and will be done in close coordination with the ECOWAS Commission’s Directorates of Transport, Energy, and Environment, as well as Member States.
To implement these activities in a phased and collaborative manner, ECREEE is seeking to recruit qualified Individual Consultants to develop the ECOWAS E-mobility Policy and Action Plans.
