The ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE), with the support of the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) has announced two distinct funding calls, inviting project developers and entrepreneurs to submit proposals for clean energy initiatives across the region. These grants aim to boost sustainable development, enhance livelihoods, and promote the adoption of the energy, water, food nexus and circular economy practices in various member states.
- Promoting Clean Cooking and Solar Technologies – Deadline: November 17, 2025
Focused on improving food security and socio-economic development, the second call targets projects in Guinea-Bissau, Cabo Verde, and The Gambia. This initiative aims to promote solar photovoltaic technologies for water pumping in agriculture, improve clean cooking solutions in schools and health institutions, and optimize fish smoking practices. The project will heavily involve women and youth, who will constitute 80% of the beneficiaries. Eligible actors from the three target countries are encouraged to submit their applications by November 17, 2025, at 11:59 pm Cabo Verde Time (GMT-1)to technicalexpert@ecreee.org.
