ECOWAS Regional Workshop on Energy Efficiency Data Collection

ECOWAS Regional Workshop on Energy Efficiency Data Collection

The ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE), in collaboration with the African Energy Commission (AFREC) and the ECOWAS Commission, will convene a regional workshop on RE and EE data Collection from 5 to 9 October 2026 in Lomé, Togo.

The workshop will bring together national energy and statistics experts from ECOWAS Member States, regional institutions and technical partners to strengthen the collection, validation and use of renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency data. Key priorities include validating the 2023–2024 regional energy efficiency database, addressing data gaps in transport, industry and residential energy use, and strengthening the application of harmonized data collection methodologies.

OBJECTIVES
The objective of this regional workshop is to strengthen collaboration among ECREEE, AFREC, the ECOWAS Commission, and Member States to improve energy efficiency data collection, validation, and management, and to enhance its availability, quality, and use for better decision-making, investment attraction, and achievement of regional and continental energy goals.
