Call for small hydro experts from the ECOWAS region

Application deadline 23 March 2012

Deadline extended! ECREEE offers financial support for a limited number of qualified small hydro experts from the ECOWAS region to participate in the small hydro workshop in Liberia, from 16 to 20 April 2012. Interested applicants are asked to send an electronic application by e-mail at latest by 12 March 2012. The applications guidelines are available on the workshop website.

ECOWAS Forum adopted a Regional Bioenergy Strategy Framework

A Regional Bioenergy Strategy Framework was adopted at the ECOWAS Bioenergy Forum held on the 19th of March 2012. The strategy seeks to enable and promote domestic and foreign investments that help to address energy poverty prevailing in the region both in rural and peri-urban areas.

Launch of ECOWAS small hydro capacity needs assessment

ECREEE/UNIDO is undertaking a stakeholder and capacity needs assessment in the small scale hydro sector in the ECOWAS. The survey aims at identifying the training needs of different stakeholders. SHP experts are asked to fill the questionnaires and return them to hydro@ecreee.org as soon as possible.
