The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) is planning a project entitled: “Greening the productive sectors in Gambia: Promoting the use and integration of small and medium scale renewable energy systems in the productive sectors”, under the 5th Global Environment Facility (GEF) funding cycle. The project will be executed by the ECOWAS Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE) with the support of the Ministry of Energy of the Gambia.

 The ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency dubbed ECREEE in partnership with the Jean Piaget University of Cabo Verde recently organized a seminar on energy efficiency.

The seminar held on the 29^th of May 2014, in commemoration of World Energy Day, was presided over by the Cabo Verde Minister of Tourism, Industry and Energy, Dr. Humberto Brito and graced by Jansenio Delgado a representative of ECREEE.

The Executive Director of ECREEE has been invited to participate at the high-level side event "Regional Sustainable Energy Partnerships to Promote Inclusive and Sustainable Industrial Development (ISID) and SE4ALL in the Post-2015 Development Agenda”. The event organized by UNIDO and the Austrian Government, is schedule to take place on the 4^th of June 2014, at the margins of the SE4ALL launching in New York.
