BizClim Approves ECREEE Project

The ACP Business Climate Facility (BizClim) has approved the ECREEE Project “Promoting Investments in the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Sector in West Africa”, with a budgetary support of 348,000.00 Euros. The project aims to introduce legal and regulatory reforms to promote innovative Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMAs) for tackling climate change and to create an enabling environment for investments and finance in mitigation actions for renewable energy and energy efficiency environmental projects in targeted ECOWAS countries.

Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency Project Map for West Africa

ECREEE and repowermap.org agreed on a cooperation concerning the mapping of renewable energy and energy efficiency projects in West Africa. The map provides an overview on relevant RE&EE demonstration, pilot and investment projects and programs in the West African region and is regularly updated by the ECREEE Secretariat.  

Steering Committee meeting of the African Renewable Energy Alliance (AREA)

From 8 to 9 April 2011, the Steering Committee meeting of the AREA will be held at the ECREEE Secretariat in Praia, Cape Verde. The members will agree on joint activities to be implemented in the forthcoming months.

ECREEE and the ITC signed a Memorandum of Understanding

Canarias 28th March, 2011, the Instituto Tecnológico de Canarias (ITC), represented by the Chief Executive Officer, Juan Ruiz Azola and the ECOWAS Regional Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency ECREEE, represented by the Executive Director Mr. Mahama Kappiah, signed a Memorandum of Understanding by which they formalize aseries of joint actions between the two institutions in the field of renewable energy and water technologies.
