ECREEE, AECID and RVO Strengthen Regional Coordination for Clean Cooking under ReCCAWA

Praia, Cabo Verde, 16 July 2026 – The ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE) hosted a three-day ReCCAWA technical Working Session from 14–16 July 2026, bringing together representatives of the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO).

The meeting focused on finalizing the Country Support Package model, strengthening coordination among implementing partners, and advancing the development of the ReCCAWA Community of Practice, a regional platform for knowledge sharing and collaboration on clean cooking.

In her opening remarks, speaking on behalf of ECREEE’s Executive Director, Mr. Gibson Obasi, Ms. Ela Goore Bi emphasized that stronger coordination among partners will enhance support to ECOWAS Member States in accelerating the adoption of clean cooking solutions.

The session concluded with agreement on a joint 2026–2028 action plan and an initial set of knowledge products to support the Community of Practice, reinforcing collaboration ahead of the next ReCCAWA Steering Committee Meeting.
