The ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE), within the framework of the ECOWAS Renewable Energy Policy and the National Renewable Energy Action Plans (NREAPs), invites applications from qualified individuals for participation in a specialized training on Clean Mini-Grid Design, Installation, and Inspection (Level 2 Certification).
This initiative is implemented under the ECOWAS Certification of Sustainable Energy Skills (ECSES) programme, with support from partners including GIZ and the African Development Bank (AfDB), aimed at strengthening technical capacity and promoting quality standards in the renewable energy sector across ECOWAS Member States.
Objective
To build the capacity of Clean Mini-Grid Project Developers and Promoters in the design, installation, and inspection of solar photovoltaic mini-grids, in line with regional and international certification standards. The countries included in this phase are: Benin, Cabo Verde, and Sierra Leone.
Eligibility Criteria
Interested applicants must meet the following requirements:
- A Degree or Diploma in Engineering or a related field;
- At least three (3) years of experience in solar PV project development or promotion;
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
- Preferably, experience with Medium and Low Voltage electrical distribution systems.
Selection Process
Applications will be evaluated based on the above criteria. Due to limited capacity, only top-ranked candidates will be selected and invited to participate in the training.
The training will be gender-responsive, ensuring inclusive participation of both women and men.
