RENAC ECREEE GIZ Green Banking Capacity Building

The Renewable Energy Academy (RENAC) in collaboration with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) project DIAPOL-CE (commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety),and the ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE) will be conducting a 12-week online training on Green Banking from 1st December 2021 to March 2022.

The ECOWAS Certification of Sustainable Energy Skills ECSES Committee has validated and approved the examination results conducted in Cotonou, Republic of Benin from the 8TH to 10Th of August 2021.  The Scheme is the West Africa’s foremost Regional Certification Body established by ECREEE for all ECOWAS member states with the support of EU, IRENA, GIZ and other partners. The Scheme aims to promote professional competency and quality assurance for the sustainable energy market by certifying sustainable energy professionals in the area of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency. 

HIGH- POWERED ECOWAS PARLIAMENTARY DELEGATION VISIT THE ECOWAS SPECIAL REPRESENTATIVE TO CABO VERDE

Praia, September 22nd, 2021 – A high-Powered ECOWAS parliamentary fact-finding mission on the electoral system and state of preparedness for the presidential elections is currently in Cabo Verde. The mission is to gather information about the electoral system of Cabo Verde, as an example of good practices to inspire other countries.

Online training: RENEWABLE ENERGIES, ENERGY EFFICIENCY and CLIMATE CHANGE

The Consortium of universities (CIVIS) is organizing in collaboration with the ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE), the Africa, Mediterranean, and Europe Jean Monnet Network, EU (AMENET) and CERMI, a five days online renewable energy training/research workshop, which will take place on the week of 18th to 22nd, October 2021.

The ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE) is now accepting applications to register to its webinar series on Innovation in Renewable Energy - Blockchain-powered Digital Electricity. SECRETARY OF STATE FOR HIGHER EDUCATION OF CABO VERDE PAYS A COURTESY CALL TO ECREEE HEADQUARTERS

Praia, September 14, 2021 – A high-powered Cabo Verdean government delegation led by the Secretary of State for Higher Education, Dr. Eurídice Monteiro, recently visited the ECREEE office in Praia to get first hand information about the work of the Centre.  The visit was also designed to explore opportunities for collaboration and cooperation in the field of research and scientific knowledge.

Promoting Sustainable Bio-energy Service Delivery ECREEE Conducts Study tour of Integrated Biogas Systems in Rural Senegal

ECREEE, Dakar – Senegal, 31st August 2021 - The ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE), recently organised a capacity building programme on sustainable bioenergy service delivery. The training held in Senegal from the 30th August - 1st September 2021, comprised of a study tour of the sub-regional bloc’s integrated biogas systems in rural Senegal preceded by a workshop to exchange ideas and experiences on the country’s national biogas programme.

The Acting Executive Director of ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE) has said that the ECOWAS Bioenergy policy seeks to ensure universal access to clean, safe, affordable and sustainable energy access including cooking energy solutions by the year 2030 in the sub-region.  Mr. Bah F.M. Saho made the remarks on Thursday 26th August 2021 during the ‘validation workshop on ECOWAS Standards on Bioethanol for cooking and transportation and also for cookstoves’ held in Abidjan in Cote d’voire.
