SOLTrain – West Africa Training Course for Experts & Professionals

For three years the ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency has been running the ECOWAS Solar Thermal Energy Program (SolTrain West Africa). With this specific program, ECREEE aims at creating more and more channels for a wider penetration of the solar thermal technology, including water heating, thermal drying of agricultural products and other productive uses, towards sustainable energy.

Workshop on new business opportunities from West Africa’s evolving energy sector

On 13 April 2018, the ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE) will be organizing a regional workshop to present the findings from the Pre- feasibility Study on Business Opportunities for Women in a Changing Energy Value Chain in West Africa. ECREEE in partnership with the ECOWAS Department of Gender and Social Affairs, the West African Power Pool (WAPP), the ECOWAS Regional Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERERA), the West African Gas Pipeline Authority (WAPGA) and the ECOWAS Infrastructure Projects Preparation and Development Unit (PPDU), is organizing a 3-day Gender and Energy Infrastructure Workshop to validate the draft ECOWAS Directive on Gender Assessments in Energy Projects.

ECOWAS-GBEP Bioenergy Week

With the support of the Austrian Federal Ministry for Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management (BLMFUW), ECREEE is collaborating with GBEP in hosting the 5th GBEP Bioenergy Week in the ECOWAS (5^th ECOWAS/GBEP Bioenergy Week) in Accra, Ghana 22 – 24 June 2017. The event will provide an opportunity to share knowledge and experience with the ECOWAS member states in sustainable Bioenergy service delivery for increasing energy access while sustaining food security.
