Call for Proposals: Web-based GIS Hydropower Resource Mapping for ECOWAS Countries

ECREEE is planning to implement a web-based GIS hydropower resource mapping, to facilitate the identification of attractive sites for hydropower generation in the ECOWAS Region. It is part of the ECOWAS Small Scale Hydro Power Program (SSHP) which aims to contribute towards establishing an enabling environment for small-scale hydro power investments and markets in the ECOWAS region.

The ECOWAS Programme on Gender Mainstreaming in Energy Access (ECOW-GEN) is a flagship programme implemented by ECREEE in partnership with the Human Development and Gender Department, of the ECOWAS commission, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the African Development Bank (AfDB), the Mano River Union (MRU), and the ENERGIA International Network on Gender and Sustainable Energy, with the objective to meet the Sustainable Energy for All (SE4ALL) goals in West Africa.

Call for Expressions of Interest: Technical Assistance for the Development of National Renewable Energy Action Plans in 15 ECOWAS Countries

The ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE) in cooperation with the Spanish Agency for international Development Cooperation (AECID), the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) is supporting the fifteen ECOWAS Member States in the development of the National Renewable Energy Action Plans (NREAPs). The activity is also supported by the GEF Strategic Programme for West Africa (GEF-SPWA).

Development of a NAMA policy framework for Sustainable Charcoal in a selected country in the ECOWAS region

Needs assessment and recommendations for training module development for industries with biogas potential in the ECOWAS region

The Unitd Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) is facilitating the development of a training module for the ECOWAS region, targeting private sector entrepreneurs with biogas potential for industrial applications. This training module will focus on enhancing the capacity of biogas companies and entrepreneurs to seize opportunities presented by industrial uses of biogas. The trainings will address both technical and business skills, including project appraisal with UNIDO’s Computer Model for Feasibility Analysis and Reporting (COMFAR) programme.
