Following the launching the of ECOWAS Renewable Energy Facility (EREF), second call for proposals which targets the implementation of renewable energy powered mini-grids and the establishment of a management, operation and maintenance system in rural and peri-urban areas of West Africa, ECREEE is seeking for an expert support to conduct an external evaluation of the proposals which has passed the first administrative screening. 

On the framework of the project Bambadinca Sta Claro - Community Programme for Access to Renewable Energy in Bambadinca, Guinea-Bissau, financed by the ACP-EU Energy Facility, TESE - Associação pelo Desenvolvimento, has launched a tender for Supply and installation of prepayment system with prepaid meters, commissioning of vending and revenue management system

The ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE) in cooperation with the Spanish Agency for international Development Cooperation (AECID), the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) is supporting the fifteen ECOWAS Member States in the development of the National Renewable Energy Action Plans (NREAPs). The activity is also supported by the GEF Strategic Programme for West Africa (GEF-SPWA).

The Unitd Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) is facilitating the development of a training module for the ECOWAS region, targeting private sector entrepreneurs with biogas potential for industrial applications. This training module will focus on enhancing the capacity of biogas companies and entrepreneurs to seize opportunities presented by industrial uses of biogas. The trainings will address both technical and business skills, including project appraisal with UNIDO’s Computer Model for Feasibility Analysis and Reporting (COMFAR) programme.
