Renewable energy bolsters agricultural activities for women in rural communities in Benin

ECREEE is implementing a project entitled: Promoting Agricultural Competitiveness through Solar Energy (PAC-SOLAR). The project seeks to support the region’s agricultural businesses to produce more through the affordable and reliable option of harnessing its abundant renewable energy resources towards providing a stable supply of water for irrigation and other agricultural purposes.

ECREEE Mulls the Propagation of Green Hydrogen Energy in ECOWAS Member Countries

ECREEE Praia, Cape Verde 4th April 2022 - The ECOWAS Centre for renewable Energy and Energy efficiency (ECREEE) is set to conduct a kick-off meeting on the development of the ECOWAS Green Hydrogen Policy from the 7th to 8th April in the Senegalese Capital, Dakar. The forum seeks to create the roadmap for the development of an ECOWAS Green Hydrogen Policy.

ECREEE Banjul, The Gambia 18th March 2022 The National Electrotechnical Committee (NEC) of the Gambia - a body established to promote Quality Assurance has reviewed and adopted the ECOWAS Approved Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS) on Energy Efficiency appliances at a workshop held in Banjul. The forum was organized by the ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE) in collaboration with UNIDO, The Gambia Standard Bureau (TGSB), and the government of the Gambia through the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy (MOPE).

ECREEE Inaugurates Solar Mini-grid Plant in the Gambia

ESEF 2021 CONCLUDES WITH RECOMMENDATIONS FOR REALIZING THE ECOWAS SUSTAINABLE ENERGY GOALS

Praia, Cabo Verde 09th December 2021 – The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE) convened the fifth edition of the annual ECOWAS Sustainable Energy Forum (ESEF) from 7-9 December 2021. This year’s forum was also held virtually due to the ongoing pandemic, under the high patronage of the Minister of Petroleum and Energy of Senegal, Her Excellency, Madam Aïssatou Sophie Galadima.
