ECOWAS Leaders determined to solve the socio-political crisis in Mali

The Heads of State and Government of ECOWAS member countries have called on Malians to refrain from violence and employ dialogue to resolve disputes in the country. They made the call in a joint communiqué issued at the end of the extra-ordinary summit by video conference held on 27th July 2020. During the summit, ECOWAS leaders examined the socio-political crisis in Mali and took necessary decisions to restore peace and stability in the country.

Grid-Connected Renewable Energy Flagship Projects

A component of the AGoSEREE-AO program implemented by ECREEE in partnership with German International Cooperation (GIZ), focuses on disseminating lesson learnt by developers of flagship projects, in order to raise awareness of the challenges encountered and their solutions, and to encourage private investment in the sector in the region.This documentation focuses on FasoBiogaz and presents the data collected during a site visit and from studies conducted. It covers all relevant aspects of project including the history, technology, financing and the economic and environmental benefits.

The ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE) bids farewell to its pioneer Executive Director, Mr. Mahama Kappiah, after ten years heading the Centre. Effective May 1, 2020, Mr. Kappiah has been appointed to serve as the ECOWAS Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York by the President of the ECOWAS Commission.
