Cabo Verde hosts the launch of the UNIDO Country Programme Framework for Inclusive and Sustainable Industrial Development

Tuesday 13th Mrs. Amita Misra, UNIDO’s Director, Regional Programmes and Field Representative, accompanied by Mr. Victor Djemba, UNIDO Representative  and Mr. Rui Levy, National Coordinator, undertook a visit to the Government of Cabo Verde for the the launching of the UNIDO Country Programme Framework for Inclusive and Sustainable Industrial Development.

In response to the identified shortage of qualified solar PV installers and maintenance technicians in West Africa the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA) and ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE) with support from other partners incl. GIZ have been working together to establish a regional certification scheme for installers of solar PV systems.

High Level Delegation from The Gambia Energy and Environment Sectors visits Cabo Verde for Study Tour

The ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE) in partnership with United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) organized a study tour of a high level delegation from Gambia in Cape Verde, from 23th to 27th November 2015. The aim of the study tour was to enable an exchange between The Gambia and Cape Verde on sustainable energy development in order to create synergies in the sector of renewable energy and energy efficiency.

The ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency – ECREEE is participating on the 19th edition of the International Fair of Cabo Verde from November 18th to 22nd, taking place in the city of Mindelo, Cabo Verde. This fair, according to the organizers, is a very important instrument to facilitate the internationalization process of the Cabo-Verdean economy.
